We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Living Free Regional Conference April 11 – 13, 2019. Each night will be an exciting time! Thursday night, we will start with our special guest Mark Mitchell. Mark runs Tri-City Recovery in Abingdon, VA. His ministry carries him into the local prisons and jails in his community to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ using Living Free material. Mark has a powerful testimony that he will share that Thursday night.
On Friday night, we will host a Living Free Banquet that we will use to raise money to prepare for the summer months. We are now working on recruiting sponsors for this event. We are asking for 12 sponsors at $1,000 each (we already have 6) to cover the expense of the weekend and to get the banquet kicked off. We will take up a special offering that night as well. Nick Bain will be our speaker that night, along with local judges, two local sheriff department members, a local narcotics investigator, and other special guests.
Scripture speaks about the ant preparing for hard times, so this event will help prepare us for the financial difficulty that occurs for Living Free every summer.
I ask that you consider being one of our sponsors, or make plans to come. RSVP so we can make preparations for the meal.
Saturday will be a special day with a training session for becoming equipped to lead a support group or any small group. Saturday’s even will be lead by a group coming from Living Free, Inc. out of Chattanooga, TN. This group travels the world training people to conduct Living Free support groups; they have taken this material to over 120 countries!
The Saturday event will start at 8:00 am and will end about 3:00 pm, including time for breaks and lunch. You may pre-register or walk-ins are welcomed. The cost for the Saturday training is $25, which includes materials and lunch.
If you or your church group has ever wanted to start a support group or just learn how to reach the hurting folks in addiction, here is your chance. Don’t miss this great, local opportunity.
We are very excited about this upcoming weekend, and we ask you to consider how you can be a part of this special event. God is doing some big things within Living Free with the addition of Perry Hudson on our team full-time. Perry is working hard learning how to work the addiction ministry, and already is very involved in the local jails, local drug court, and we are in the middle of talking with two more churches about starting a support group with them.
Our vision of an extended recovery house is still our focus and we have looked at two houses. We need God to put this together for us, so I ask that you pray about that.
Thanks for everything. We get to do what we get to do because of your giving, and we love what we do.
