Often I pray “for God to show up and show out”. Did He ever honor that prayer in 2015! We completed and celebrated our 10th year of Living Free, and God really moved in the life of Living Free. We have built relationships with ministries from Chattanooga to Biloxi. We get calls from Georgia, Indiana and other places wanting to know the answers to two questions: “How did we get started?” and “How do we fund our program?”. I share specifics with each person, but my general answer is both simple and unbelievable – God has just shown up and shown out. He guides our steps and His people provide our support.
The year 2015 saw many families touched, many homes restored, and many lives were changed for the better. On a different note, we saw some of our friends go to jail, and I have preached funerals of friends as well. Not everything in our path was pleasant, but God was faithful through all of it!
Many new doors are opening up for Living Free. We are beginning new support groups in local churches and alcohol and drug programs in the local jail. These new programs will mirror our weekly activities at Living Free. We have Monday and Thursday night programs, our meal program, and our men’s Bible study on a weekly basis. In addition to our weekly activities, we have our Christmas Day meal program and we provide support to get struggling addicts into residential programs. We meet with families and individuals every day to share the Hope of Jesus Christ. We had the privilege of sharing with over 3000 students in the year 2015, and we really look for that number to grow as we expand the ministry. We have been able to help over 50 men and women each year to get into residential progams. Many of these folks have gave there lives to Christ at these programs.
We are only able to do all of this because of your giving. Words can’t express how thankful I am for all of your support because I get to do what I love to do every day – share Jesus. As we go into the new year, our 11th year, I ask that you pray about how you can support Living Free and be part of it. I ask that you come be a part of one of our meetings and see how God is using Living Free to reach the hurting folks in our community. We would love to come to your church and give a presentation to help people understand Living Free better. Thank you for being a vital part of Living Free.
We have been very thankful for the first 10 years, but we are more excited about the next 10 years.
