CARE Foundation launches match grant for Freedom Center

Friends, I wanted to give you an update on the Freedom Center. As you know, this center has been a dream of mine and many others for the last several years. The Freedom Center will house 12 men who are in transition from a troubled life to a life of hope. Through your generosity, that dream has been on the road to reality, from our purchase in January to the current remodeling, the building is being transformed from an old building into a home.

We are about 70% complete with the remodeling but over the last two weeks, we came face to face with a real roadblock. We have exhausted the $50,000 budgeted for the remodel. There are two main drivers of this cost overrun. Our cost of construction materials has skyrocketed (as has everyone’s) and we ran into a complete re-wiring project on the electrical side of things. We really were worried that this project might get put on hold.

After making a few phone calls, the Board of Directors of the C.A.R.E. Foundation presented us with what we think is a great solution.

For those of you who are not familiar with C.A.R.E., It is our local community foundation. Their whole focus is to improve the lives of those living in Corinth and Alcorn County.

C.A.R.E. has offered a $15,000 matching grant. If we can raise $15,000, then they will match it dollar for dollar.

I would like to ask you to pray about what your role will be in helping us bring this building to remodel to completion. Would you consider making a donation that will be matched 100% by the C.A.R.E. Foundation?
